“The family of 19 month-old Kian Musgrove, who has a rare form of cancer, are appealing for donations to help pay for potentially lifesaving treatment in America.
In October 2013, Kian was diagnosed with aggressive neuroblastoma and he currently has just a 50 percent chance of survival.
Around just 50 children a year are diagnosed with an aggressive form of the condition.Kian is undergoing treatment at Newcastle’s Royal Victoria Infirmary, but if it does not work or Kian relapses, the NHS does not have any further treatment options, and Kian’s only choice will be to travel abroad for treatment, which the family will have to pay for.
Kian has has an 80 percent chance of relapsing and a year-long treatment programme in America and living costs will top £600,000.
Kian’s mum Katherine Musgrove said: “Kian means absolutely everything to me.
"If as many people as possible could donate, that would be absolutely fabulous because he’s my son and if I lose him, it would just rip me to pieces."
If Kian does not relapse then the money collected will be donated to the Neuroblastoma Society charity.
But with Kian having an 80 percent chance of relapsing, it is likely he will need to travel abroad for further treatment.
Kian’s family hope that in the run up to Christmas, people might be feeling charitable and dig deep to donate the much-needed cash.
Katherine added: “I would be very, very grateful.
"We’re talking about a life here, a tiny, little baby’s life that is just so important.
"If I lost him, it would just shatter me." " -http://tyneandwear.sky.com/news/article/91572/please-help-save-our-baby-desperate-plea-from-family-in-fundraising
